Vilact 50 mg 30 Tablets contain vildagliptin, an oral medicine for blood glucose control in adults with type 2 diabetes. It supports the action of incretin hormones to increase insulin release and reduce glucagon when blood glucose is elevated. It is used alongside dietary management and exercise, alone when metformin is unsuitable because of contraindications or intolerance, or with other diabetes medicines as selected by the physician.

Each tablet contains vildagliptin 50 mg.

How to use
Take by mouth with water, with or without food, following the dose and schedule set by the physician. The regimen depends on other diabetes medicines and kidney function. Continue the recommended diet, exercise and glucose monitoring. Do not take a double dose to replace a missed dose.

Precautions
Not a treatment for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis and not a substitute for required insulin. Liver function must be assessed before treatment and monitored during use; do not use in hepatic impairment. Inform the physician about kidney problems, pancreatitis and all other medicines. Seek urgent medical advice for severe persistent abdominal pain, jaundice or facial swelling with breathing difficulty. Low blood glucose can occur, particularly with sulfonylureas or insulin. Not recommended under 18 years; do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
