Bimzelx contains bimekizumab, a prescription biologic that blocks interleukin 17A and 17F. It is prescribed for specific inflammatory diseases, including plaque psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, axial spondyloarthritis and hidradenitis suppurativa.

Active ingredient:
Each 1 ml prefilled pen delivers bimekizumab 160 mg. Inactive ingredients include acetic acid, glycine, polysorbate 80, sodium acetate and water for injection. Pack contains 2 pens.

Directions:
Inject subcutaneously only on the schedule prescribed for the diagnosed condition. A healthcare professional should train the patient or caregiver before self-injection. Rotate sites and avoid tender, bruised, red, hard or affected skin. Keep refrigerated, protect from light, do not freeze or shake.

Important precautions:
Screen for tuberculosis and infections before treatment. Do not inject during a clinically important active infection unless the prescriber approves. Report fever, persistent cough, oral thrush, severe diarrhoea or abdominal pain. Avoid live vaccines and discuss inflammatory bowel disease, pregnancy and all vaccines with the specialist.
