Ecinq 30 mg Film-Coated Tablets 1's contains ulipristal acetate 30 mg in a single film-coated tablet. It is an emergency contraceptive intended to reduce the chance of pregnancy following unprotected sexual intercourse or failure of a contraceptive method. It works primarily by delaying ovulation and should be taken as soon as possible, but no later than 120 hours (5 days) after the event.

Active ingredient and composition:
Each film-coated tablet contains ulipristal acetate 30 mg. Other ingredients include lactose monohydrate, pregelatinised maize starch, sodium starch glycolate, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, stearic acid, talc and titanium dioxide.

Directions:
Take one tablet by mouth as soon as possible and within a maximum of 120 hours after unprotected intercourse or contraceptive failure. It may be taken at any time during the menstrual cycle, with or without food. If vomiting occurs within 3 hours, another tablet should be taken as soon as possible. Use condoms during subsequent intercourse until the next menstrual period.

Important precautions:
Ecinq is intended for occasional emergency use and does not replace regular contraception. It will not interrupt an existing pregnancy, protect against pregnancy following further unprotected intercourse or protect against sexually transmitted infections. Do not combine it with emergency contraception containing levonorgestrel. Consult a healthcare professional before use if the menstrual period is late, pregnancy is suspected, or in cases of severe asthma, severe liver disease, breastfeeding or recent use of enzyme-inducing medicines. If the next period is more than 7 days late or is unusually light or heavy, take a pregnancy test and seek medical advice.

Common side effects may include nausea, abdominal discomfort, vomiting, painful periods, pelvic pain, breast tenderness, headache, dizziness, mood changes, back or muscle pain and tiredness.
