Ventolin Respirator Solution 5 mg/mL 20 mL is a concentrated salbutamol nebuliser solution for acute severe asthma and chronic bronchospasm not responding adequately to usual therapy. Its confirmed composition is Salbutamol 5 mg per mL, as salbutamol sulfate; contains benzalkonium chloride.

For inhalation through a suitable nebuliser only; do not swallow or inject. For intermittent use, adults usually start with 0.5 mL diluted with sterile normal saline to a final volume of 2 mL; this may be increased to 1 mL diluted to 2.5 mL. Children under 12 years usually start with 0.5 mL diluted to 2–2.5 mL, with specialist supervision.

Tremor, fast heartbeat, palpitations, headache, muscle cramps or low potassium may occur. Seek urgent care if breathing worsens, relief is inadequate, chest pain develops or the heartbeat becomes severe or irregular.
