Bactil 125 mg/5 ml Powder for Oral Suspension 60 ml is a prescription antibacterial medicine containing cefdinir, a cephalosporin antibiotic. A physician may prescribe it for susceptible bacterial infections, including certain infections of the ear, sinuses, throat, respiratory tract or skin. It is not effective against viral infections such as colds or influenza.

Main ingredients: After reconstitution, each 5 ml contains 125 mg cefdinir.

How to use: Use only in the dose and for the duration prescribed by the physician; dosing depends on age, weight, infection and kidney function. Have the suspension prepared as directed, shake well before every dose and measure with an oral syringe or suitable measuring device. Complete the prescribed course even if symptoms improve.

Precautions: Prescription only. Do not use in patients allergic to cefdinir or other cephalosporins. Tell the physician about penicillin allergy, kidney disease and all medicines or supplements, especially iron products or aluminum or magnesium antacids. Seek urgent help for signs of a severe allergic reaction and medical advice for severe or persistent diarrhea. Keep tightly closed after preparation and discard any remainder 10 days after mixing.
