Emacrit orally soluble sticks combine microencapsulated iron saccharate with vitamin C, folic acid and vitamins B6 and B12. The once-daily formula is intended to support normal haemoglobin and red-blood-cell formation when iron supplementation is appropriate.

Ingredients and composition: Per stick: microencapsulated iron saccharate 79 mg providing elemental Fe3+ 30 mg; vitamin C 70 mg; vitamin B6 3 mg; vitamin B12 10 mcg; folic acid 300 mcg.

Recommended use: Age 12 years and older: take 1 stick daily, preferably away from meals. Pour directly into the mouth and allow it to dissolve, or dissolve in about 200 mL water and drink. Use for confirmed need and follow the clinician's duration.

Important warnings: May cause nausea, abdominal discomfort, constipation, diarrhoea or dark stools; sweeteners may have a laxative effect if overused. Keep securely away from children because iron overdose is dangerous. Separate from levothyroxine, calcium, antacids and certain antibiotics as advised, and do not combine with another iron product without medical direction.
