Toplexil Syrup is a sedating antihistamine antitussive for short-term relief of dry, irritative cough, particularly in the evening or at night; it is not suitable for a productive cough.

Ingredients and Composition: Each millilitre contains oxomemazine 0.33 mg.

Directions for Use: Use the graduated measure. Adults and patients over 40 kg (approximately 12 years or older): 10 mL per dose up to four times daily. Children 13–20 kg: 5 mL two to three times daily; 20–30 kg: 10 mL two to three times daily; 30–40 kg: 10 mL three to four times daily. Leave at least 4 hours between doses, favour evening doses and limit use to 5 days unless medically supervised. Medical advice is required below 6 years.

Safety Information: Marked drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation, urinary retention, blurred vision and postural hypotension may occur. Avoid alcohol, sedatives, driving and hazardous tasks. Do not use below 2 years of age, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for a productive cough. Use cautiously in glaucoma, urinary retention and respiratory disease.
