Uni-Cal Capsule 120 Mg is a gastrointestinal lipase inhibitor used for weight management in suitable adults together with a nutritionally balanced, reduced-calorie, lower-fat diet.

Ingredients and Composition: Each capsule contains orlistat 120 mg.

Directions for Use: Take one capsule immediately before, during or up to 1 hour after each main meal containing fat, up to three times daily. Omit the dose if the meal is missed or contains no fat. A multivitamin may be taken at bedtime, at least 2 hours apart. In adults, treatment should be reviewed after 12 weeks and discontinued if at least 5% of starting body weight has not been lost.

Safety Information: Common effects include oily spotting, fatty or oily stools, urgency, flatulence with discharge and increased bowel movements; high-fat meals increase these effects. It is contraindicated in chronic malabsorption, cholestasis and breastfeeding, and is not recommended during pregnancy. Important interactions include ciclosporin, anticoagulants, levothyroxine and some antiepileptic medicines. Severe abdominal pain, jaundice or marked weakness requires assessment.
