Viscodril Expectorant Syrup combines a sedating antihistamine with an expectorant to help relieve cough associated with mucus and upper-airway irritation.

Ingredients: Each 5 mL contains diphenhydramine hydrochloride 14 mg and ammonium chloride 138 mg. Other ingredients include sodium citrate and menthol.

How to use: Adults and adolescents 12 years and older: 5–10 mL every 4–6 hours, up to 40 mL daily. Children 6–11 years: 5 mL up to four times daily, maximum 30 mL daily. Do not give to children under 6 years without professional direction or use for more than 5 days without assessment.

Important safety information: May cause drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation or difficulty urinating. Avoid alcohol, sedatives and driving. Seek prompt care for breathing difficulty, marked confusion, severe allergy or a cough accompanied by fever or breathlessness.
