Deux 500/2.5 mg 30 Tablets combine metformin and glibenclamide in one oral tablet to help control blood glucose in adults with type 2 diabetes when diet, exercise and a single diabetes medicine are insufficient. Metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and improves the body's response to insulin, while glibenclamide stimulates insulin release from the pancreas.

Active ingredients
Each film coated tablet contains metformin hydrochloride 500 mg and glibenclamide 2.5 mg.

How to use
Take by mouth with meals at the dose and times set by the physician. Maintain regular meals and do not skip food after taking a dose, as this can cause low blood glucose. Monitor blood glucose as advised. Do not alter the dose or take an extra dose to make up for a missed one.

Precautions
May cause hypoglycaemia, including sweating, shaking, hunger or confusion. Severe symptoms or loss of consciousness require emergency care. Do not use in severe kidney impairment, liver failure or diabetic ketoacidosis. Kidney function and all other medicines need review, including before surgery or iodinated contrast scans. Avoid alcohol. Severe vomiting, diarrhoea or dehydration require prompt medical advice. Stop taking it and seek emergency care for possible lactic acidosis, such as unusual severe tiredness with breathing difficulty, abdominal pain or muscle cramps. Pregnancy requires an alternative treatment plan; do not use during breastfeeding.
