Fycompa 4 mg is supplied in a pack of 28 film-coated tablets. Each tablet contains 4 mg of perampanel, an antiseizure agent that acts as a non-competitive antagonist at AMPA-type glutamate receptors. Fycompa is used to help control partial-onset seizures with or without secondary generalisation, and as adjunctive therapy for primary generalised tonic-clonic seizures associated with idiopathic generalised epilepsy, according to the treatment plan set by the specialist.

Active ingredient:
Each film-coated tablet contains perampanel 4 mg.

Directions:
Take the dose directed by the treating physician once daily at bedtime. Swallow the tablet whole with or without food; do not chew, crush or split it. Do not change the dose or stop treatment suddenly unless directed by the physician, as abrupt withdrawal may increase seizure frequency.

Missed dose:
Skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the usual time. Do not take two doses together or an extra dose. Contact the physician if treatment has been missed for more than one day.

Important precautions:
Perampanel may cause serious psychiatric or behavioural reactions, including new or worsening aggression, hostility, anger, irritability, anxiety, hallucinations, confusion, or thoughts of self-harm or harming others. Seek immediate medical advice if any unusual or worsening change in mood, behaviour or thinking occurs. Dizziness, sleepiness, tiredness, gait or balance problems and falls may occur. Avoid driving or operating machinery until the effect is known, and avoid alcohol because it may worsen drowsiness and behavioural effects. Inform the physician about liver or kidney problems, pregnancy, breastfeeding and all medicines or supplements being used. Perampanel may reduce the effectiveness of hormonal contraceptives containing levonorgestrel; discuss suitable contraception with the physician. Seek urgent care for severe rash, facial swelling, breathing difficulty, fever with swollen glands, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or dark urine.

Storage:
Store at 20°C to 25°C; permitted excursions are between 15°C and 30°C. Keep out of the reach of children.
