FINJUVE (Finasteride) 2.275 mg/mL Cutaneous Spray Solution – 18 mL

What it is and what it is used for
FINJUVE is a prescription-only cutaneous spray containing finasteride. It is intended for adult men aged 18 to 41 years with mild to moderate male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia), to increase scalp hair growth and help prevent further hair loss. Finasteride inhibits 5-alpha reductase, reducing the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Lowering DHT in the scalp helps counter the follicle miniaturisation involved in male pattern hair loss.

What to expect
The effect develops gradually. Three to six months of once-daily treatment are generally needed before evidence of hair growth can be expected. Continued use is recommended to maintain benefit, and hair gained during treatment is likely to be lost after stopping. The treating physician should reassess benefit and treatment duration; clinical experience with FINJUVE beyond six months is not available in the product information.

Who should not use it
Do not use FINJUVE if you are allergic to finasteride or another ingredient. It is for men only and must not be used by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. It must not be used by children or adolescents under 18 years. Do not apply it with cosmetics, sunscreens or other topical medicines on the same area.

Important safety information
Finasteride may be absorbed through skin. Until the solution has dried, prevent contact between the treated scalp and other people, fabrics or objects. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, children and adolescents must not touch the solution, treated scalp or contaminated surfaces. If accidental contact occurs, wash the exposed area promptly and thoroughly; a woman who is or may be pregnant should also obtain medical advice.

Tell the doctor before a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test because FINJUVE may affect interpretation. Seek prompt medical advice for breast lumps, pain, enlargement or nipple discharge. Mood changes were not observed in FINJUVE clinical studies, but contact a doctor promptly if low mood, depression or suicidal thoughts occur. The solution contains alcohol and is flammable; keep it away from flames, lit cigarettes and heat while applying and until dry.

Storage
Store below 30°C in the original package, out of the sight and reach of children. Use within six months after first opening and do not use the bottle beyond 180 delivered sprays.
