Menopur 600 IU Powder and Solvent for Injection 1 Vial is a multidose fertility medicine containing highly purified menotrophin. It promotes ovarian follicle development during assisted reproduction, including IVF, and is used to induce ovulation in women with anovulation who have not responded to clomiphene citrate. The pack contains one powder vial with solvent for preparation before subcutaneous injection. Treatment requires assessment and ongoing monitoring by a fertility specialist.

Main ingredients: Active ingredient: highly purified menotrophin, 600 IU per powder vial, corresponding to 600 IU of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) bioactivity and 600 IU of luteinising hormone (LH) bioactivity. Other powder ingredients: lactose monohydrate, polysorbate 20, disodium phosphate heptahydrate and concentrated phosphoric acid. Solvent: metacresol and water for injections.

How to use: The fertility specialist determines the dose and treatment duration according to response; 600 IU is the total vial content, not a standard injection dose. Use only the prescribed dose and an administration syringe graduated in FSH/LH IU. Reconstitute with the supplied solvent without shaking; use only after injection training, with the first injection supervised by a healthcare professional. The vial is for one patient and may be used for multiple prescribed doses within the labelled period. Do not use a solution that is cloudy or contains particles.

Precautions: Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if allergic to an ingredient. The product contains lactose; discuss any sugar intolerance with the specialist. Tell the specialist about unexplained vaginal bleeding, hormone-sensitive tumours or previous blood clots. Seek urgent medical care for severe abdominal pain or swelling, rapid weight gain, breathing difficulty or reduced urination, as these may indicate ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. Blood clots, multiple pregnancy and ectopic pregnancy are important treatment risks. Store before preparation at 2–8°C; after preparation, keep at or below 25°C and discard after 28 days. Do not freeze. Keep out of children's reach.
