Nizoral 2% Medicated Shampoo 200 ml contains ketoconazole 20 mg per g, an antifungal active ingredient used to treat and help prevent persistent dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis. It acts on the fungal overgrowth associated with these scalp conditions and helps control flaking, scaling and itching when used as directed. The 200 ml presentation is suitable for a structured treatment course followed by maintenance use when required.

Main ingredients: Active ingredient: ketoconazole 20 mg per g, equivalent to 2% w/w. Other ingredients include sodium lauryl ether sulphate, disodium monolauryl ether sulphosuccinate, coconut fatty acid diethanolamide, laurdimonium hydrolysed animal collagen, macrogol 120 methyl glucose dioleate, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, fragrance, imidurea, hydrochloric acid, erythrosine E127 and purified water.

How to use: Wet the hair and scalp, apply enough shampoo to produce a lather and gently massage over the affected area. Leave for 3 to 5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. For dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis, use twice weekly for 2 to 4 weeks. To help prevent recurrence, use once every 1 to 2 weeks. Follow the enclosed leaflet or your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.

Precautions: For external use only and do not swallow. Avoid contact with the eyes and rinse with water if contact occurs. Do not apply to open wounds. Do not use in case of allergy to ketoconazole or any ingredient. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, when using other medicines, or when topical corticosteroids have been used on the same area; corticosteroids should not be stopped suddenly without professional advice. Stop use and seek advice if significant irritation or an allergic reaction occurs, or if symptoms persist or worsen after 4 weeks. Keep out of reach of children.
