ResMed Lumis 150 VPAP ST Bilevel Device provides noninvasive ventilation for respiratory insufficiency or obstructive sleep apnoea when selected by the treating clinician. It delivers different pressures during inhalation and exhalation and supports timed backup breaths in ST mode. The iVAPS mode adapts pressure support to a target alveolar ventilation under clinical settings. It is intended for patients weighing more than 13 kg, or more than 30 kg when using iVAPS, and is not suitable for patients dependent on a ventilator for life support.

Components:
Bilevel airflow generator, colour display, control dial, air outlet and air filter compartment. The device works with a compatible breathing circuit and mask; HumidAir humidification is an optional compatible function.

How to use:
A respiratory clinician must select the mode, pressures and backup breathing settings. Place the device on a stable level surface, connect the compatible tubing and fitted mask, and use the approved power supply. If a humidifier is fitted, fill it without exceeding the maximum mark and do not use hot water. Start therapy as instructed by the clinical team. Do not change clinical pressure or backup rate settings yourself.

Precautions:
Not a life support ventilator. Clinical assessment is essential, particularly with pneumothorax, severe bullous lung disease, markedly low blood pressure, dehydration, cerebrospinal fluid leakage or recent cranial surgery or trauma. Seek prompt medical advice for unusual chest pain, severe headache or worsening breathlessness. Keep the airflow path clear, do not immerse the device in water, and disconnect power before cleaning. Supplemental oxygen requires a clinician-directed setup.
